Winter soup

I made baked potato soup for dinner tonight. As Matthew sat at the table looking at his bowl, he asked several questions such as, "What is the red stuff? (bacon), What is the white stuff? (potatoes)" He then looked at me with a every serious face and stated, "Oh, when can winter be over so we can stop eating soup!"

Hoe Down at Matthew's school

This past Friday night we attended a Hoe Down at Matthew's school. It was a PTO fundraiser, we paid five dollars, which then included five raffle tickets, pop corn, hot dogs, Friendly's Ice Cream, cotton candy, face painting, Famous Daves (rib samples), games, and a live band. It did not start until 6:30pm, so by the time we got there the boys were pretty tired (Ryan also did not have a nap that day.)
We saw a lot of our neighborhood friends and Matthew had fun hanging out with his friend Joe, from his preschool class. Connor was a little nervous with the crowd and loud music. On the other hand, Ryan had a wonderful time. We had a hard time keeping track of where he was. He was hugging characters, dancing to the music, playing games even sitting in the middle of the sand pit were you were suppose to dig for treasures. Although, I would have to say that Ryan's favorite part was playing the cardboard jail where there was chalk to write on the walls or the picture area with hay, stuffed horses, and cowboys hats. Ryan made himself right at home trying on all the hats. I can't believe that Matthew will be starting kindergarten next year!

Spring Cleaning per Matthew

Tonight as I was getting Matthew and Ryan ready for bed I asked them go to their rooms and pick up their toys. I making Ryan's bed and he walked into Matthew's room and here is how the conversation went:
Ryan: "Matthew, what are you doing?"
Matthew: "I'm spring cleaning, Ryan. That is what you do when you clean."
Ryan: "Oh"
Matthew: "Mom, when is it going to be time to spring clean? I sure do love to help people clean!"
