First Basketball Game

We took the boys to the Springfield Armor- MBA D League Basketball game this past Friday night. The boys had a great time. Here is Matthew and Daddy enjoying some popcorn while watching the game.

When we entered the game, the boys were both given matching t-shirts, which they wore proudly! We did end up leaving during half time, as Ryan found it hard to sit in his seat

While we were at the game, Connor went to play at Nana's house, as cousin Hannah was there visiting

Who says boys don't crave chocolate too?

Why did Ryan pour chocolate sauce all over the floor in the only room in the house with wall to wall carpet! And why did Connor roll in it and Matthew start to cry because now what is he going to put on his ice cream tomorrow!

Valentine's Day 2010

Happy Valentine's Day! All the boys woke up in an excellent mood. Here is Connor sitting on his changing table with his great big smile.

We started our Valentine's celebration last night when we went over to Nana's house for dinner. Nana made a delicious dinner, including beer bread and almond cake. She also had made heart shaped cooked for the boys to decorate with frosting and sprinkles. Ryan and Matthew both especially had fun with the sprinkles!

For breakfast we had pink pancakes with chocolate chips, scrambled eggs, sausage links, and Dunkin Donut holes (from Auntie Chickie and Uncle John). Matthew just couldn't believe that the pancakes were actually pink! Ryan and Connor both loved the donut holes

Later on in the day, the boys and I made Rice Krispies Treats. In order to continue with our theme, we added red food coloring to the marshmallows as well as chocolate chips. As they were starting to harden the boys pushed on some conversation hearts.

We also made some Cupid Potion, which included, raspberry sherbet, 7-up, and pink lemonade. It was delicious and we drink it all up.

Valentine's day 2010 was a wonderful day! I look forward to continuing to build more holiday traditions with the boys!

Preparing for Valentines Day

Matthew has 11 other children in his preschool class this year. Their Valentine's day party was on Thursday afternoon. In preparation, Matthew had several sessions of writing his names on his Valentine's for his friends. Matthew's Valentines' had lollipops attached to them. Here is Connor enjoying his first lollipop. After each lick he would take it out of his mouth and say, "Yum"

Matthew and Ryan also enjoyed a few lollipops themselves

These past few weeks, Matthew has become a little more defiant with me. I seem to be pushing his buttons more and more and he is quick to loose his temper. A few times, I have picked him up from preschool and as soon as he walks out of the door with his teacher and sees me, he hangs his head down and says, "I didn't want you to pick me up Mom, I want Daddy or Nana."
So, needless to say, I was super excited to see the Valentine that Matthew made for me at school. He gave me a big hug and stated, "You are my Valentine forever." When Aaron questioned Matthew about where his Valentine was, Matthew replied, "I will make one for you next year!"
